The Danville Riverhawks (7-9) continued their successful run last night when they defeated the Racine Storm (10-4) by one-point, for a 127-126 final score.
The Riverhawks victory extended their winning streak to three games and have won four out of their last five, with that single loss coming from the Racine Storm by five.
Danville showed a great team-effort with four players scoring 21 or more points, led by Lavell McDade who scored 24 points and a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line. However, the true star player for the Riverhawks was clearly Widgett Washington. Washington put up a double-double after he scored 23 points and had 10 assists, while also bringing in seven total rebounds.
As for the Storm, team effort could arguably be the cause for their loss last night. Thomas Cobbs scored 33 points and Anthony Spencer was right behind him with 30 points. However, they were the only players to reach the 20-point mark and were two of only five players to reach 10 or more points in general.
This was the Riverhawks first victory in their three-game series.
