Danville Riverhawks vs. Grand Rapids Cyclones
Saturday, December 20th at 7:30pm.

The Danville Riverhawks (0-2) don't post the best record in the Midwest Division, but after dropping their first two games of the season while on the road against the league's only 2-0 teams; Lake Michigan Admirals and Lima Express, the Riverhawks will get to redeem themselves at home against the Grand Rapids Cyclones.

The Cyclones (0-1), like the Riverhawks, are yet to post a victory on the season after losing their only game of the season to the Racine Storm (1-1). However, it won't be an easy game as the Cyclones bring talent from the University of Notre Dame, Louisville and the University of Michigan.

(Danville Riverhawks): From Florida A&M, the Riverhawks 6'7" forward, Fred Gardner, leads the team in scoring (39), assists (9) and in total rebounds (18). The Cyclones will likely put much needed pressure on Gardner in order to keep the Riverhawks big gun away from the ball. However, Gardner's strength and size will be tough to stop.

(Grand Rapids Cyclones): In their lone game of the season, the Grand Rapids Cyclones scoring front was led by Jody Hill, who is a local Michigan standout from Delta College and a big fan favorite. Hill scored 26 points in their 87-104 loss to the Racine Storm.
Lester Jones; Erie Hurricane

When it came to the PBL Player of the Week nomination, there wasn't a question who stood out the most this past weekend.

Lester Jones of the Erie Hurricane put up a total 68 points in a home-and-home series against the Buffalo 716ers.

The first game hosted by the 716ers resulted in a Buffalo victory, but it didn't stop Mr. Jones from posting a team-high 32 points and 12 assists.

Then on Sunday, December 14th, the Hurricane would take full advantage of playing at home with a 20+ point drive in the last few minutes to win the game. Jones would score 36 points and set up 5 assists.

The Lynchburg Titans could not be happier as their team captain, Damien Hubbard, returns to the lineup for their home opener on Saturday, December 20th against the Carolina Pee Dee Vipers (2-1).

This will be Hubbard's first game of the 2014-15 PBL season since being sidelined with a sprained shoulder.

The Danville Riverhawks will be without star guard Cedric Ridle for an expected 4-6 weeks with a broken hand.

Ridle who is the third highest scoring player on the team averaging 14 points per game broke his hand during the Riverhawks last game in their loss to the Lima Express.

Another star player from the Premier Basketball League has moved on to further his professional playing career.

Before signing to play in the Mongolian National Basketball Assocation, Alvin Brown was the big man up front for the 716ers. In two games this season the center standing at 6'10" scored only 10 points but had 12 total rebounds and six blocks.

Owner of the 716ers, Tawan Slaughter stated her joy and sorrow for Brown's recent accomplishment.

"Alvin will be missed here in Buffalo, but at the same time I am excited that he was able to use his short time with us as a stepping stone to bigger things. The entire 716ers organization wishes Alvin nothing but the best with his basketball career."
